Title: Don't Just Do Something, Sit There: An Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation

** New Classes Added ** on Tuesdays 7-8:15pm (6/14, 6/21, 6/28)

Cost: Free

The Covid-19 pandemic has presented many profound challenges for our mental health and emotional well-being: isolation, anxiety about the future, moral outrage, unpredictability, and compassion fatigue.

Mindfulness practice has been demonstrated to offer solace and relief by giving practitioners ancient techniques to work skillfully with their own minds and cultivate the inner resources necessary to remain balanced and engaged no matter the external circumstance.

This is a 4-part class, although drop-ins are welcome. Each session will include a guided meditation practice, a short talk, and a question & answer period. Topics will include mindfulness of the body, working with emotions, practicing compassion for self and others, and bringing mindfulness to daily life. No previous experience necessary.

Chairs will be provided. If lying down is more supportive for your practice, please bring a yoga mat, blanket, etc. The space is wheelchair accessible by ramp.
