This is a place for Jewish life and learning.
TBI is for more than Saturday mornings- with programming led by our Rabbis, our Cantor and many of our members, we offer education for all ages, holiday programs, special events and a range of weekly and monthly religious services. Join us for a conversation (online), a forum to answer questions about Judaism in a modern world, a place to celebrate old and new traditions, and local food and drinks.
Covid-19 update from the Board
We can't wait to welcome you back in person- until it is safe to do so, we're online every week.
We have held weekly services since 1929, and although we have closed our physical doors to protect our community during the LA County stay-at-home order, our Zoom rooms are open!
Shabbat (Saturday) morning services mix traditional prayer in Hebrew and English with a discussion from the Rabbi related to the weekly Torah portion in place of the traditional (physical) Torah service. Friday night services are held on the first two nights of each month, and are more conversational.
Online Services
Our families are staying connected with school, stories and holiday traditions.
Our families and children are so important to us, and Rabbi Chorny has led our efforts to do everything we can to keep them engaged and connected to our community and to each other. Torah School has transitioned online for now, and a decision will soon be announced about the start of the 2020-2021 school year.
Keep an eye on our e-mail newsletter (and sign up if you haven't yet!) and our Facebook page for special events and programs.

Jew It At Home Programming
This year, the High Holidays will be more important than ever.
High Holidays at TBI bring our members, their family and friends, and special friends of the Temple together to reflect, to celebrate, to share and to learn from one another.
While it may not be possible to do this in the ways that we are most familiar, we are working through this new challenge to imagine the ways in which we'll stay connected to our most treasured moments and friends.
We don't know how much of this will be physical, and we know it will look and feel different, but we're hopeful that we will be able to support you through these uncertain times. Click below for details, as soon as we can share them with you.
High Holidays
We are working with our members to make meaningful celebrations.
Stay-at-home doesn't stop life from happening. We've been hard at work with our members to make sure that their Jewish lives continue, and this includes milestones like Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, births and deaths. There is no one right way to move forward, and our Rabbis, Cantor and Directors are talking to each member and family to make sure that these moments are acknowledged, celebrated and remembered.
