Option 2: Purchase Guest Tickets
This option is perfect for folks visiting from out of town, or if you are curious to check out our community!
You have two options when purchasing tickets:
- An all-season pass, allowing you to attend all of the High Holy Days services from Erev Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur afternoon
- Purchase a shul-hopper ticket, which allows you and your family to attend one of our services this season.
- Are you a member in good standing at another synagogue? We honor reciprocity agreements with congregations around the country, so please send us an email if you are interested in joining us free of charge based on your active membership at another community at least 30 miles away from TBI!
Youth Services
Whether you attend as a TBI member or with a guest ticket, your Kindergarten-7th grader can attend our youth programs! These programs are available during the following services:

Additionally, the Gilberg Family Religious School is hosting a Family Rosh Hashanah Seder on Sunday, September 29th at 11:30! This is open to all families, whether or not your child(ren) is registered at the Religious School – including families with babies, toddlers, and preschoolers! You can register for that here.
Join us for TBI's First-Annual Sukkot Camping Trip!
Once we get to the other side of Yom Kippur, it is not long before Sukkot begins! From the spiritual intensity of Yom Kippur, we dive head-first into Z'man Simchateinu, the Festival of Joy! We are so excited to be hosting our very first Sukkot camping trip, taking place at Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura between Friday, October 18 and Sunday, October 20th. This trip is open to all ages, and includes food, the Sukkah, and lulav and etrog for everyone to enjoy! All attendees will need to bring their own camping supplies, including tents, sleeping bags, etc.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be Jewish to attend High Holy Days at TBI? Can my non-Jewish loved one/friend/family member attend?
You do not have to be Jewish to attend our High Holy Days services! Our doors are wide open to people and families of all stripes Jewishly, including people curious about Judaism, non-Jewish partners and spouses, and supportive loved ones.
Do I have to be a member to attend High Holy Days at TBI?
Absolutely not! While we would love to have you formally join our community, feel free to attend with a guest ticket!
What machzor (prayerbook) is used at TBI?
At TBI we use the Rabbinical Assembly's Machzor Lev Shalem. We find it to be an elegant balance between traditional and inclusive, including a lot of useful commentary and user-friendly features for folks of all backgrounds and levels of Jewish knowledge.
Is there assigned seating at TBI's High Holy Days services?
There is not. TBI is an egalitarian community, not just regarding gender, but socioeconomically as well. No one receives priority seating – it is first-come, first-serve.
Where will Tashlich be taking place?
Tashlich is a meaningful Rosh Hashanah ritual that takes place at a natural body of water on the afternoon of Rosh Hashanah Day 1 (October 3rd at 4pm). Click here to learn more about Tashlich. This year, we will be holding Tashlich off-site at a private residence, and the address will be provided upon registration. Please click here to register for Tashlich!
Is my baby/toddler welcome to attend?
Absolutely! We love having little ones join us. Our restrooms include changing tables, and we have lots of books and toys for little ones to play with to keep them occupied during services. Their sounds are anything but a disruption – they are a joyous reminder that the next generation of the Jewish people are among us!
Is there security present during services?
Sadly, the state of the world requires us to have an armed security presence during our services. Our experienced, qualified guards are in street clothes to ensure that all of our congregation feels welcome on these sacred occasions – and, most of all, they are incredibly welcoming and friendly! We work closely with law enforcement on all levels to assess security threats to our campus year round, including (and especially) during the High Holy Days.
Will a physical ticket be mailed to me?
No – however, you will receive a physical ticket at will-call when you arrive at our services. When you renew your membership or purchase a guest ticket, your name is added to the roster used by our volunteers and security to check people in.
Membership/guest tickets are a little out of my price range. Am I not able to attend?
Here at TBI, we never turn people away from our doors due to financial constraints. Please call our office as soon as possible at (323)745-2474 to discuss how we can make membership or guest tickets work for your family!
I would love to volunteer before/during/after services! How can I sign up?
We would love your support as a volunteer! Please email operationspod@tbila.org to let us know that you'd like to help!
