Celebrate the End of Passover in style and indulge in delicious Mediterranean Hametz (leaven)-filled dishes and desserts! Mimouna is an ancient Sephardic holiday, originally celebrated in Morocco and other northern African countries which has gained popularity among other Jewish communities across the world. On the night of the Mimouna, Jews celebrate the end of Passover by opening their homes to all of their neighbors of various faith backgrounds, after setting out a lavish spread of traditional holiday cakes and dishes.
TBI will be celebrating Mimouna in its garden, starting with a musical havdalah at 8pm accompanied by guitarist Philip Rundblad. After havdalah, we will be serving a buffet of traditional and symbolic Maghrebi dishes, desserts and drinks catered by French chef Lionel Pigeard.
We will also be performing various rituals symbolizing good luck and new beginnings such as the sprinkling of mint sprigs in milk and the marking of people's foreheads with flour.
