Donate to Temple Beth Israel
No synagogue survives on memberships alone. We rely on donations - continuing or one-time - to continue to provide services to the community, and to keep our doors open.
Please consider contributing to the synagogue.
You can send a check made out to Temple Beth Israel to P.O. Box 421186, Los Angeles, CA 90042. This way every cent of your contribution goes to us.
Use this button to purchase admission to 2010/5771 High Holidays. Admission is $75.00 per adult, $35.00 per child ages 13–18, and children under 13 are free. Admission includes the family services. If you want to come to just the family services, that's $50.00 total per family. If these fees present a hardship, please contact our treasurer and confidential arrangements will be made.
If you want to put names in the 2010/5771 High Holidays Memorial Book, use this button to donate and send your names to memorial@tbila.org. Suggested donation is $18 for the first name and $4 for each additional name, but please donate what's comfortable - no one will be excluded.
Click on the Donate button to use your credit card over PayPal's secure servers. A secure PayPal page will come up. If you want to use your credit card, click in the lower left corner of the screen where it says "Don't have a PayPal account? Use your credit card or bank account (where available)."
If you want to contribute to a special fund, or in honor of a person or event, or if you want to purchase a memorial board plaque, kiddush dedication, or prayerbook dedication, add a note to us on the PayPal page.
Contributions go into our General Fund unless you request otherwise. The General Fund is used for operating expenses, building maintenance, and the like.
The Rabbi Fund is used to help pay the salary of our Rabbinic Intern. If you're a big fan of our Rabbinic Intern, and many people are, please consider contributing to this fund.
The Torah Fund will be used to repair our Torah scrolls. We have consulted with prominent local soferim, and repairs are needed.
The Education Fund is used to help our growing and blossoming education effort.
For $200, you can purchase a memorial board plaque for a loved one who has died. We will include their name in our Kaddish prayers on the anniversary of their death, and in our Yizkor prayers four times a year. If you select this option, please include the person's English name, Hebrew or Yiddish name, and date of death. If you're not sure how to handle the Hebrew name, give us a call or an email and we can help out.
For $50 or more, you can sponsor a kiddush luncheon on a Saturday. If you select this option, please tell us the occasion that you want to honor - a graduation or birthday, let's say - or the person you want to honor or remember.
We offer the opportunity to have dedication bookplates glued into our prayerbooks. We use the books every week, rain or shine. A prayerbook dedication costs twice chai. Chai means life in Hebrew, and its numerical value is 18, so each dedication is $36.00. Our previous prayerbooks lasted well over 50 years, so your dedication will be seen by congregants for many years to come.
Don't think you have to wait for a special occasion! We accept donations large or small, at any time! If you want us to send a card to an honoree, let us know the name and address and the wording - for example, "In honor of Sarah on her Bat Mitzvah." Or, "I'm sending you money because you're just so great!"
