Our basic approach to Bar and Bat Mitzvah is that this coming of age ceremony needs to be grounded in knowledge, shared by family and the community and experienced with joy and warmth.

Accordingly, we seek to find a course of study and a level of participation for your student and family that is authentically Jewish and suited to your circumstances.

We have a minimum level of participation on the Shabbat morning of the celebration that most children will achieve.  Motivated and talented students will be able to stretch to a level of participation that is meaningful.

Bar or  Bat Mitzvah students are expected to be enrolled in the TBI school program, a Jewish day school or a suitable equivalent by age 11.

If your child has special needs, we can work out meaningful adapted Bar/Bat Mitzvah activities and ceremonies.
